Obituary for Lillian Grace Minnick (Caldwell)

Lillian Grace Caldwell Minnick, 85, of Salem, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Jackson Hathaway Minnick.
Mrs. Minnick was born May 26, 1932 in Bland County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Caldwell and Bessie Mae Stump Caldwell. She was the owner and operator of Customs by Lillian for 30 years, of which she and her husband travelled to many different states doing the work that she loved. After retirement, Lillian loved to read and had read almost 500 books in the last three years. She was very devoted to her faith and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lillian was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Faye Webber.
Surviving are her son, Paul Steven Minnick and Deborah Lynn Watson; daughter, Stacy Minnick Barfield; sister, JoAnn Spradlin and husband, Jackson Andrew; niece, Jackie Adkins; and very special friends, Daniel Overstreet and JoAnn Minter.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. from the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home with Bishop Joseph Havens officiating. Interment will follow at the Sherwood Memorial Park Abbey.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
A reception for family and friends will be hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 6311 Wayburn Drive, Salem, VA 24153 following the service.
