James Howard "Jim"  Robbins Jr.
James H. (Jim) Robbins, 75, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 19, 2017, at UVA Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Wilmington, N.C. to the late Howard and Leah Robbins. He was also predeceased by his brother, Billy Robbins; and his in-laws, IJ and Naomi Minnix.

Jim was a long time member of Clearbrook Grace Brethern Church and a long dedicated worker at Camp Tuk-a-way. He served on the boards of Bolling Conference Grounds and Cave Spring Recreation Foundation. He was retired from General Electric and was a Military Veteran. He was a graduate of New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC. He attended the University of North Carolina and was an avid Tarheel Fan. He was a former member of the Roanoke Ski Club and Roanoke Photography Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Minnix Robbins; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica (David) Kingery, Janna (Joshua) Hubbard, and Joy Robbins; brother and sister-in-law, John (Sandra) Robbins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Emily Minnix; grandchildren, Nicole, Tiffany, and Kendra Kingery, Paisley, Skyla, and Charis Hubbard; soon to be born grandson, Cable Hubbard; nephews and their spouses, Chris (Jay) Minnix and Jason (Amy) Robbins; great-nieces, Anna and Kate Robbins; great-nephew, James Robbins; and beloved pet, Isabella.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 25, 2017, in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastors Paul Sink and Don Eshelman officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery.
