Wes was employed with Lee-Hi Auto Parts for many years, later worked for Garland Oil, and eventually retired from Basham Oil Company. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing in his spare time. His dedication to his family was expressed as a wonderful husband, father, and friend.

Preceding him in death was his mother, Verlie Elizabeth Davis; and daughter, Ami Smoake.

His surviving family includes his wife of 37 years, Sherri Davis; son, Chris Davis and wife, Debbie; father, Wesley Edward Davis; siblings, Gratton Davis and wife, Jackie, Gene Davis, Barry Davis and wife, Reba, Karen Overstreet and husband, Darryl, and Sharon Edmonds and husband, Greg; grandson, Tommy Grisso and his family; and many nieces and nephews, including Lee and Katy Dickinson.

The family expresses sincere thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice for the love, support, and compassion shared during this very difficult time.

A period of visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel. A funeral service will then begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brian Gordon officiating.
