Claude Nelson "Bud"  Stump
Claude “Bud” Stump, 75, of Salem, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017.
He was born Pearisburg, VA, the son of the late William C. Stump and Eula Stump Ehman and had been a Salem area resident for over 40 years. Bud proudly served his country in the US Army and was employed as a building supervisor with the Federal Government prior to retiring. He was a life member of Moose Lodge 2573 and Roanoke Lodge 284, where he held all offices, including two terms as Governor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annie Saunders.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Peggy Williamson Stump; a son, Sean Claude Stump; grandson, Austin Richardson; a sister, Cynthia Fanning; sister-in-law, Nancy W. Thompson, and special friends, Silas Wayne Bailey and Lee Robinson.
A graveside service will be held at 11AM, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at John M.
