Obituary for Dorothy Stewart "Dot" Jennings (Stewart)

Dorothy (Dot) Stewart Jennings, 88, of Salem, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Dot was a charter member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. She loved her dogs, flowers, and spending time in the outdoors. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, William P. Stewart and Glenna Geneva Richardson Stewart; son, Paul Taylor Jennings; brothers, William (Bill) P. Stewart, Jr. and Burrell Stewart; and sisters-in-law, Violet Stewart, Pauline Stewart, and Rachel Stewart.

Her surviving family includes her children, Don Jennings and wife, Brenda, of Salem, Beth Jennings of Salem, Rick Jennings and wife, Valerie, of Dover Fla., and Greg Jennings and wife, Angie, of Salem; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Stewart of Salem and Mary Beth (Betsy) Hartley and husband, Bill, of Goodview; and special cousin, Betsy Hodges.

The family sincerely thanks the surgical ICU doctors and nurses of Lewis-Gale Medical Center for their exceptional care.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Ridgewood Baptist Church in Roanoke with Rev. Roy Kanode officiating. A period of visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.
