She was born on Wednesday, September 16, 1925 in Kellysville, W.Va. to the late George and Jennie Whitlow, and was the last to remain in her immediate family. Forever, the stories that she shared, the good food that she made, and the love she gave will always be a part of our memories.

Her surviving family includes her daughter and caretaker, Amber Spikes and husband, Jimmy; daughter-in-law, Nancy Mowry; grandchildren, Shannon Turner and husband, Mitch, Shane Spikes and wife, Khym, Seth Mowry, Amanda Spikes, Brian Spikes, and Erin Schmacher; great-grandchildren, Alayna and Kylie Turner, Gage Mowry, and Easton (affectionately known by Ruth as “My baby”) Spikes; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Snyder Nursing Home for their loving care.
