Linda Shelton Isom, 66, of Salem, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, June 5, 2016.
She was a 1968 graduate of William Fleming High School and began working for the City of Roanoke Billings & Collections department in 1968. She continued her work with the creation of the Western Virginia Water Authority until her retirement in October 2015.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Alfred Lee and Minnie Harris Shelton.
Her surviving family includes her son, Travis Isom; aunts, Gladys Andleton and Evelyn Flora; uncle, Wayne Andleton; longtime friend and companion, Michael Musselwhite; ex-husband, Ronald Isom; and friend, Eloy Bautista.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dennis Carrol will officiate.
