Condolence From: Sandy and Steve Smeltzer
Condolence: We were so sorry to learn of Joan's passing. Joan was a dear friend and fellow dance teacher. She was always so much fun during our many Nutcracker rehearsals, where she portrayed the Grandmother with such aplomb. Our daughter Maddie studied tap at Roanoke College in her program, and we so enjoyed the father/daughter senior dance. Steve says that Joan was "his dance teacher." We will miss her. Our condolences to all of her family.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Downing passing. She was my dance teacher for 13 years and the best dance teacher at that. Prayers for the family during this difficult time.

Condolence: To Lane and Family;
We are so sorry for your loss. Our daughters took ballet and tap lessons for many years and later helped with the yearly recital production, that was a huge undertaking that Joan put on. She will be missed. We are in New Jersey visiting Chris' mother this weekend and will not be able to attend the service. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Gary"Goose", Chris, Lindsey, Jessie and Casey Moore.

Condolence: I was very saddened to hear of your mother's passing. I took dance from her for many years and absolutely loved her. Although I was not that talented, I was thrilled that she included me with the Roanoke College students when I was in high school. All of her former students have wonderful memories of her and she will be greatly missed. God bless!

Condolence From: John Ericson
Condolence: Joan had a tough time trying to teach me dance moves for the Roanoke College production of Pirates of Penzance. I have two left feet. But, she was always very encouraging, positive and helpful. I know she influenced a great many people. God bless all of her family with the promises of Easter.

Condolence: Robin, Paul and Lane:
I was saddened this am to see that your Mom has passed. I have such fond memories of her. She had a great presence and laugh. She lived large. I fondly remember swim meets and going to your house, Paul as you introduced me to the Black Sabbath and the Dead. Wonderful memories. May you be comforted by your Mom's great legacy.

Condolence: May the God of comfort be with your family during this time of deep loss. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4) Hold tight to the fond memories you have of your beloved one. Draw strength from one another and lean on God, as he is near to those whose hearts need comforting Psalms 34:18.
