Condolence: Rest in peace, Ms Hurt. You were the very definition of the word "teacher". Odd how many students loathed chemistry. Too bad they weren't in one of your classes. Thank you for making a difference in my life.

Condolence: I met Peggy Hurt when I was 11 yrs.old She was the Park Director for West Salem School
that summer. She would walk from her home to
the school up the street from my house every
day. I would meet her at the top of the hill
every morning with a cold drink. She called
me her asst. I called her Peggy but when I
went to high school,I had to call her Ms Hurt
and she was my biology teacher in 10th grade.
I graduated in 1960 and I'll always remember
her as one of my favorite teachers. So I will
say goodbye MY FRIEND.

Condolence: Mrs. Hurt was such a fine educator and good example of a life well-lived -- even if I did not have a knack for chemistry! I hope that you are enjoying the great faculty meeting in the sky....

Condolence: Ms Hurt was a terrific chemistry teacher. She taught me fundamentals that have served me well throughout my life. I've thought of her many times, especially when elite university grads can't remember how to make simple solutions in the lab without a recipe. If they'd had Ms. Hurt in high school, they'd know how, for sure. Her compliments encouraged me during that difficult high school age. I will try to emulate her style until my career is ended.
