Condolence From: Alan E. Smith, Jr., MD
Condolence: It is with a heavy heart that I wish Pat my best as I know he is with angels. He was like a grandfather to me since I first met him in 1985. He showed me how to take care of the first deer I ever harvested. He shared stories of WW II and we talked of our love of hunting and guns at the cabin over the years. He always spoke well of others, never an unkind word. I learned much from Pat, an honest, loving man is a something I continue to admire of him. We exchanged letters throughout the years and I am saddened to hear of his passing, but richer for having him and his memory in my life. He will be missed greatly. There is a hole in my heart that will never be filled. Rest peacefully. I will never forget you, Alan

Condolence: I am sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I worked with Pat on the railroad. He taught me a lot when I first started. He was a fine man and a great conductor. I am proud to have known and ridden with him.
