Obituary for Lois N. Yopp

Lois Norris Yopp, 87, of Salem, VA, departed this life December 23, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bryce H. Yopp; a daughter, Sherryl Elaine; her parents, Frederick and Lura Norris; her brothers, Hobart Norris, Vernon Norris, and Woodrow Norris; and an infant sister, Betty June Norris. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Yopp and his wife Jeanne of Roanoke County, and Aynn Handy and her husband Chris of Stuart, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Andrew Yopp and Katherine Yopp, both of Salem, Amanda Perdue of Rocky Mount, VA, and Matthew Perdue of Stuart, VA; and two very special great-granddaughters, Madeline Arbury and Emmy Yopp of Salem, VA. She retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant with 37 years of service and was very active in the International Association of Administrative Professionals. The family would like to thank the staff at Synder Nursing Home in Salem for the wonderful care they provided our mother over the past few years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made either to the SPCA of Roanoke Valley, 1340 Baldwin Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24012 or to Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016. There will be no viewing, private funeral arrangements are being made by John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, VA.
