The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Virginia Vest can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

I dont know if anyone will ever read this...but as i sat outside this evening staring at the full October moon...Boots Houchens came into my thoughts!  I knew Boots in the late 70's early 80's in Salem, Va.  I was in my late 20's early 30's...she would have been in her 50's...and the two of us shared an incredible friendship.  She gave me a gorgeous handmade basket that I still have.  We would share meals and time just hanging out talking.  I moved away and we lost touch.  I feel so badly that I never contacted her.  Why she appeared  to me tonight as I was staring at the moon I will never know.  I decided to google her name to see if I could locate her and of course found her obituary.  I offer my deep condolences to her family.  She was an incredible woman.  I was so happy to see that she had remarried and had 3 grandchildren.  One very special woman!
