Obituary for Nora Frances Dewease Epperly

Nora Frances Dewease Epperly, 88, of Salem, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 22, 2012.
She was born in Roanoke County, a daughter of the late Maynard E. Dewease and Minnie Flowers Dewease and had been an area resident all of her life. She was a lifetime member of Peters Creek Church of the Brethren, where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher and member of the Quilters Circle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Leon A. Epperly, Sr., who passed away in 2007, two daughters, Nora “Sudie” Epperly and Linda Huffman, a brother, Carden Dewease, and four sisters, Eva Evans, Ruby Pearl, Muriel Turner and Ogretta Bayer.
She is survived by two sons, Leon A. Epperly, Jr. and his wife Doris; Garry L. Epperly and his wife Patricia; a daughter, Bonnie Hutchison and her husband Howell; six grandchildren, Wesley Epperly and his wife Teresa, Darren Epperly, Brent Turner, Daniel Hutchison, Teresa Bostic and David Barker; several great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Richardson; brother-in-law, Daniel Bayer as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Our special heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice and Dr. Aldo Alamo of Lewis Gale Hospital for their kind care and concern they provided for Mom.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Peters Creek Church of the Brethren. Pastor Jack Lowe will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in her memory be made to the Peters Creek Church of the Brethren, 5333 Cove Rd. NW, Roanoke, VA 24019.
