In Loving Memory of

William Earl Damon, Sr.

William Earl Damon, Sr., 83, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2006.  He was born in Asheville, North Carolina on September 28, 1922 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Damon, of Arvada, Colorado.  His surviving family includes his brother, Kelly Bunch, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; sisters, Jeanette Stegeman, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Georgette Collier, of Loma Linda, California, and Patsy Vanhook, of York, South Carolina; sons, William E. Damon, Jr., and wife, Raynelle, and Daniel M. Damon and wife, Diane; daughters, Jamie Damon and Teresa McAuliffe; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Jane Morgan Harris Chapel on the grounds of the Richfield Retirement Community on Allegheny Drive in Salem, Virginia.  In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations being made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society – Training & Resource Center at 700 Broadway – Suite 810 in Denver, Colorado 80203-3442.  Online condolences may be made at www.johnmoakey.com.  The Damon family is being served by John M.
