In Loving Memory of

William Lee Blankenbeckler, Sr.

William Lee Blankenbeckler, Sr., 88, of Elliston, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2006.  He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Craighill Masonic Lodge of Shawsville.  Preceding him in death were his parents, James W. and Lockie Blankenbeckler.  His surviving family includes his wife of 64 years, Grethel Blankenbeckler; son, William L. Blankenbeckler, Jr.; daughter, Sandra Blankenbeckler Lipes; brother, George Blankenbeckler; sister, Martha Richards; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jack and Brenda Finley.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.  A memorial service will then follow beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Salem Presbyterian Church in Salem.  Rev. Dean Lindsey will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Mr. Blankenbeckler’s honor to the Buddy's Camp & Conference Center with Salem Presbyterian Church at 41 East Main Street in Salem, Virginia 24153.  Online condolences may be made at www.johnmoakey.com.  The Blankenbeckler family is being served by John M.
