In Loving Memory of

Margaret Moore Rogers

Our beloved Margaret (Margie) Rogers passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, August 24, 2006.  Born in Norton , Virginia on January 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Moore; sister to Ruth Hall and brothers Fred and Bill Moore all of whom are deceased.  Margie lived in Salem for over 40 years with her devoted husband Jesse V. Rogers, Jr., who preceded her in death.  She was a member of the Salem Presbyterian Church.  After her husband’s death Margie dealt with the setbacks of life bravely.  Left to cherish her memory and the wonderful family gatherings we always enjoyed are her adopted girls, Karen Littrell-Walters and Stacy Littrell-Neily along with their extended families, Warren Neily, Morgan and Ava Sage Neily; Kyle and Ryan Walters; and Bill and Peggy Littrell; a very special neighbor, Lynn Sowder and her children, Stefanie and Daniel and Stefanie’s son Dillon, who did so many things to brighten Marge’s days.  Also surviving are several nieces and a nephew; Brenda Surgenor, Linda Rothery, Debbie Carter and Jerry Hall all of Norton; and a very special brother-in-law, Tom Hall.  Additionally Marge had a very dear extended family Mr. and Mrs. Norman Johnson and their son and his family Fred Johnson.  Even though due to illnesses they could not visit, they did maintain a lifeline by speaking on the telephone often.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 10:00 am at Sherwood Memorial Park with Rev. Dave Vanderpool officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2006 from 6-8 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem .  On-line condolences may be made at www.johnmoakey.com
