Margaret Body Owen, 96, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006. Mrs. Owen has been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey B. Owen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Butler Body; and her sister, Mrs. Edna Anderson. She is survived by a niece and nephew, Lynda Wright and C. B. Anderson, of Rock Hill, South Carolina; and several cousins, including Lauretta Gobeli, of Salem. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel with Rev. John W. Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Donor Services at P.O. Box 4072 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts 01202.
