Kern, Marylin Ann, 68, of Roanoke , went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 16, 2006. She was born in Staten Island , NY and was predeceased by her husband, Louis R. Kern; brother, William Ford, Jr. and parents, William and Irene Ford. Surviving family include her daughters, Elinor Kern and Marylin Stockton; son-in-law, Jeremy Stockton; sisters, Dr. Elinor Ford, Dr. Veronica Berreen and Irene McAuley; grandchildren, D. J. Kasey, Jr., Joshua Davis and Kayliana Stockton; special friends, Monique and Yassia Harris and Michael and Janis Crenshaw; a number of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at 1:30 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with the Rev. Msgr. Joseph P. Lehman officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Diocesan Cemetery . The family will receive friends on Friday, August 18, 2006 from 6-8 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem .
