L. Earl Bonham, Jr., 79, of Salem , VA passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006. He was born October 10, 1926 in Salem , VA a son of the late, Lacy Earl Bonham, Sr. and Nellie Fairchild Bonham. He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Bonham. Mr. Bonham was self employed having own and operated a motel and worked 20 years as vice president and sales manager of Old Dominion Candies. He was of the Baptist faith and was a US Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Caldwell Bonham; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Debra Bonham and Darah and Julie Bonham; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Jay DeBoer; five grandchildren, Dustin Bonham, Reilly Bonham, Reese Bonham, Sydney DeBoer, and Skylar DeBoer; and a sister, Shirley McPherson. The family will receive friends Friday, August 11, 2006 from 6 to 8 PM at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem . A service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2006 from the Chapel of John M.
