In Loving Memory of
Bruce Howell Ogden
Bruce Howell Ogden, 68, passed away on Sunday, October 8,
2006 at his home in Salem. He is survived by his loving
and devoted wife of 45 years, Pam. Born
December 16, 1937 in Summit,
NJ, he was a son of the late Robert Bispham Ogden and Arline Skidmore Ogden.
Bruce retired from General
Electric in 1998 after 35 years as a drive systems engineer; prior to
that, he proudly served his country for seven years as an explosive
ordnance disposal specialist in the US Army.
Bruce was a graduate of
Blair
Academy,
Purdue
University, and Roanoke
College. He enjoyed golf,
motorcycling, and sailing, but his greatest passion was spending time with
family and friends. In
addition to his wife, Pamela Martin Ogden, Bruce is survived by his two
daughters, Kate of Arlington, Elizabeth Dunn and her husband, Willcox
Dunn, of Richmond; two sons, Robert and his wife, Cate, of San Luis
Obispo, CA, John and his wife, Margaret Ryan, of San Francisco, CA; five
grandchildren, Hannah Ogden, Lelia Dunn, Sam Ogden, Ludmila Ogden, and
Madeline Dunn; sister, Joan of New York; three brothers, Alan and his
wife, Cecile, of Littleton, CO, Rick and his wife, Ronnie, of Wooster, OH,
Neal and his partner, Ruth Kemp, of Taos, NM; numerous nieces, nephews,
and others who called him "Uncle Bruce"; and a host of friends.
Bruce will be forever remembered as a loving and wise husband,
father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A celebration of
Bruce's life will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. at
St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Salem. Memorial contributions may
