In Loving Memory of

Wimmer, Rebecca Susan Tate, 94, of Salem , passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005.  She was a lifetime member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren where she served with music and other various committees.  She also sang with the Roanoke Valley Chorus for 13 years.  She was retired from General Electric and was previously employed at Yale and Yowne and the American Viscose.  She was predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Jemima Tate; brothers, Frank D. Tate, Printiss L. Tate, James N. Tate and Harold Tate; sisters, Elva Tate and Geneva Lawrence and husband, Milton Wimmer.  Surviving family include brothers, John Tate and Edgar Tate, Jr. and a sister, Pauline T. Goode.  She was a special aunt to many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 11:00 am at Green Hill Church of the Brethren in Salem with Pastor Harry Shelton officiating.  Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park .  The family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2006 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem .  Memorial contributions may be made to Green Hill Church of the Brethren.  On-line condolences may be made at www.johnmoakey.com
