Ofelia Hernandez, 67, of Salem , passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 after a long illness. She was predeceased by her brother, Javier Cadavid. She lived with her caring sister, Francisca, and her devoted husband of 35 years, Diego. Also surviving are her sisters, Nubia , Lilliam, Dolly, and Nidia; and 34 nephews and nieces and their families. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 29, 2005 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem . A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Rene Castillo on Friday, December 30, 2005 at 3 p.m. at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in Roanoke. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Diocesan Cemetery in Roanoke . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ofelia's name to St. Gerard’s Catholic Church at 809 Orange Avenue, NW in Roanoke , Virginia 24016 . The Hernandez family is being served by John M.
