In Loving Memory of

Mary Jackson Chambers

Mary Jackson Chambers, 93, of Salem and formerly of Lithonia , Georgia , died Monday, October 11, 2005 in Salem . She moved to Salem in 1999 to be near her family. “Aunt Mary”, as she was affectionately called by her friends and family, was loved by all who knew her. Before retirement in Lithonia, she worked in a Savings and Loan in Atlanta . Mrs. Chambers beloved husband, Quinn, died in 1998. They shared a life together for 54 years and both loved and served God through the Decatur and Lithonia United Methodist Churches in Georgia . She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and their families: Sara and Bill Logan of Roanoke; Lisa and Quinn Mongan, Kayla and Quinn Mongan of Salem; Tatyana and Craig Logan of Leesburg; Anne Marie, Steve, Logan and Carter Kimmell of Clifton; Gloria and Bob Holmes of Vero Beach, Florida; Martha and Walter Wolsky of Las Vegas, Nevada and Brenton Lee Mongan and family in Florida. Her nieces and nephews in Alabama include Jack Chambers, Mavis Masters, Karry Chambers, Carl Kennon Chambers and Laura Jean Warren. Mary and her family greatly appreciate the care and love given to her over the past six years by so many friends. A Service of Celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2005 in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Salem , led by the Rev. Dr. M. Douglas Newman.  A graveside service will be held at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia , Georgia at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2005.
