In Loving Memory of

Epperly, Ernestine Helm, 95, of Salem , died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home.  She had been a long time (47 yr) member of West Salem Baptist Church .  She loved her housework and gardening after she retired and always said that when she couldn’t work and take care of her flowers, she hoped the Lord’s will would be to take her to her heavenly home.  She was born March 3, 1910, the daughter of Jacob Oakley and Viola Ellen Poff Helm.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie Wyatt Epperly, Sr. and seven brothers.  Surviving family include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Linda Epperly of Hardy; daughters and sons-in-law, Serita and Charles Fry of Roanoke, Delores and Harold Hall of Roanoke, Willa and Dan Angle of Rocky Mount and Tressia Detrich of Daleville; grandsons, Michael Fry of Roanoke, Stephen and wife, Karen of Stuart, Christopher and wife, India of Moneta and Andrew Angle of Rocky Mount; great granddaughters, Connor, Piper and Skylar Epperly of Stuart; great grandsons, Charlie and Andon Epperly of Moneta; sister-in-law, Lillian Helm of Elliston.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Rev. Ken Nienke and Dr. Michael Curry officiating.  Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park .  The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2005 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Meals on Wheels and the staff, doctors and nurses at Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home in Roanoke .  Arrangements by John M.
